National Testing Agency (NTA) is an autonomous organization under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India. It conducts the UGC-NET on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC). UGC-NET is a national-level eligibility test for Indian nationals aspiring for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor, and admission to Ph.D. programs across Indian universities and colleges. The exam is conducted in CBT mode for 85 subjects.
