About NIDM

The National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. It plays a critical role in capacity building, research, and policy advocacy in disaster risk reduction and management. NIDM collaborates with national and international organizations, state governments, and academic institutions to enhance disaster resilience across the country.

NIDM is inviting qualified and experienced professionals to walk-in interviews for Consultant and Junior Consultant positions on a contractual basis. These roles will be part of the Resilient Infrastructure Division, focusing on earthquake risk reduction, recovery, and reconstruction.

Vacancy Details

NIDM is hiring for the following contractual positions at its Delhi campus:

1️⃣ Consultant (Earthquake Risk Reduction) – 2 Vacancies
Walk-in-Interview Date: 26 March 2025

2️⃣ Junior Consultant (Earthquake Risk Reduction) – 1 Vacancy
Walk-Interview Date: 27 March 2025

3️⃣ Junior Consultant (Recovery & Reconstruction) – 1 Vacancy
Walk-Interview Date: 27 March 2025

📌 Note: NIDM reserves the right to increase/decrease the number of vacancies based on project requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

✔ Consultant (Earthquake Risk Reduction):

M.Tech/M.Arch in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Urban Planning, Geography, Disaster Management, or related fields.
Minimum 5 years of experience in disaster risk reduction, earthquake risk mitigation, and post-disaster reconstruction.
Desirable: Ph.D. with at least 3 years of experience.

✔ Junior Consultant (Earthquake Risk Reduction):

M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan in Structural Engineering, Urban Planning, Geography, Disaster Management, or related fields.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in training, capacity building, and research.

✔ Junior Consultant (Recovery & Reconstruction):

M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan/M.A. in Disaster Management, Geography, or allied subjects.
Minimum 3 years of experience in disaster recovery, post-disaster damage assessment, research, and policy formulation.

📌 Age Limit: Maximum 40 years (Relaxation in exceptional cases).

Roles & Responsibilities

✅ Assist in organizing workshops, conferences, and training programs on disaster risk reduction.
✅ Conduct data analysis, research, and report preparation related to earthquake risk reduction and reconstruction.
✅ Coordinate with government agencies, academia, and stakeholders for policy formulation.
✅ Maintain resource materials, expert databases, and training documentation.
✅ Travel across India for conducting training programs, workshops, and field studies.

Selection Process

The selection process will be based on a walk-in interview conducted at NIDM, Rohini, Delhi.

📌 Reporting Time: 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM on the scheduled interview date.

Plot No. 15, Pocket-3, Block-B, Sector-29, Rohini, Delhi – 110042.

📌 Documents Required for Interview:
✔ Original & photocopies of educational certificates and mark sheets.
✔ Valid ID proof (Aadhaar/PAN/Passport).
✔ Copies of published research work (if any).
✔ Filled application form (attached with notification).

📌 Important Note:

Only 15 eligible candidates per position will be entertained on a first-come, first-served basis.
No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.

Remuneration & Contract Details

✔ Consultant (Earthquake Risk Reduction): ₹75,000 – ₹1,00,000 per month.
✔ Junior Consultant (Earthquake Risk Reduction & Recovery): ₹50,000 – ₹65,000 per month.

📌 Contract Duration: 18 months (initially for one year, extendable based on performance).

📌 Leave Benefits: 18 casual leaves per year on a pro-rata basis.
