The National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR) is an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India. It coordinates India’s polar and ocean research programs, including the prestigious Indian Antarctic Scientific Expedition. NCPOR is recruiting trained personnel on a contract basis to support essential operations at Indian research stations in Antarctica for a duration of 6 to 18 months.

Key Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Educational Qualification: ITI/Diploma/Graduate depending on the trade.
Experience: Minimum 2-5 years in relevant trade/field. (Experience requirements vary per position.)
Special Consideration: Preference for candidates with previous Antarctic expedition experience, ex-servicemen, and those with specialized trade licenses/certificates (e.g., GOC, Boiler License, etc.).
Pay & Allowances
Contract Salary:
First-time expeditioners: ₹58,981.50/month
Experienced expeditioners: ₹78,642.00/month
Hardship Allowance:
₹1,500/day (Summer) | ₹2,000/day (Winter)
Additional Benefits:
Free boarding, lodging, polar clothing
Special preparation reimbursement: ₹40,000 – ₹60,000
Group Accident Insurance: Up to ₹25 Lakhs
