Job Title: Project Scientist – I

RGCB invites applications from qualified Indian citizens for the position of Project Scientist – I for an ICMR-funded multi-institutional research project. The selected candidate will contribute to a pioneering study on:

“Functional studies on novel porin from Malaria parasite and its implications as a therapeutic drug target.”

This research is a collaborative effort involving IIT Madras and Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Hyderabad. The candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Mahendran KR at RGCB’s Biotechnology Research and Innovation Centre (BRIC), Thiruvananthapuram.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Conduct biophysical and biochemical experiments related to the project
🔹 Perform molecular and cell biology research for functional characterization
🔹 Analyze data and contribute to research publications and reports
🔹 Collaborate with leading researchers from IIT Madras and TIFR Hyderabad

Essential Qualifications:

✔ M.Sc. or equivalent degree in any branch of Life Sciences with at least 70% marks
✔ Minimum 6 months of experience in biophysical techniques
✔ Hands-on experience in molecular and cell biology techniques

Age Limit:

🔹 Below 35 years as of March 23, 2025 (Relaxation as per Government of India norms)
