The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna, a premier research institution, invites applications for the position of Research Associate – I (RA-I) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates must meet at least one of the following requirements:
Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a strong research background in Physical Sciences, Thermal Sciences, or Fluid Mechanics. Research contributions should be demonstrated through publications, patents, or technology development.
Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis may also apply. However, the final selection will be subject to the award of the Ph.D. degree.
M.Tech in Mechanical, Thermal, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, or an equivalent discipline with a minimum of three years of relevant research experience and a strong publication record.
Preferred Skills and Expertise
Candidates with experience in any of the following areas will be given preference:
Multiphase Flows and Heat Transfer
Surface Science and Engineering
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Modeling
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Fluid Mechanics
Acoustics and Vibration Analysis
Age Limit
The age limit will be as per ANRF/DST norms. Candidates with significant research experience may be granted relaxation.

Monthly fellowship of ₹58,000 plus HRA as per Government of India rules.
