The Defence High Altitude Research Institute (DIHAR), a premier laboratory under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has released an official notification inviting applications for Walk-in Interview for engagement of Junior Research Fellows (JRF) and Research Associates (RA) on a temporary contractual basis.

DIHAR is a leading DRDO laboratory working in the areas of high-altitude research, life sciences, materials, mechanical systems, electronics, and computational technologies.
The walk-in interviews will be conducted at DIHAR, DRDO, located in Chandigarh – 160002.

Educational Qualification

For Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Candidates must possess B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in relevant disciplines such as:

• Civil Engineering

• Computer Science Engineering / Information Technology

• Electronics & Communication Engineering

• Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering

• Mechanical Engineering

• Chemical Engineering

• Materials Science Engineering

Essential Requirement:
Candidates must be GATE qualified with First Division in their qualifying degree.
Both Graduate and Post-Graduate candidates must have secured First Division throughout their academic career.

For Research Associate (RA)

Candidates must possess M.E./M.Tech in relevant engineering disciplines such as:

• Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering & Design

• Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering

• Computer Science Engineering / Information Technology

Additional Requirement:

• Candidates must have minimum 3 years of research, teaching, or industrial experience after M.E./M.Tech.
• Experience should include SCM tools, coding, algorithm design, or system development, with at least one research paper published in SCI journal.

Age Limit (As on Walk-in Interview Date)

• Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Maximum 28 years

• Research Associate (RA): Maximum 35 years

Age relaxation is applicable for SC, ST, OBC, and PwBD candidates as per Government of India rules.

Fellowship / Salary

• Junior Research Fellow (JRF):
  ₹37,000 per month + HRA (as applicable)

• Research Associate (RA):
  ₹67,000 per month + HRA (as applicable)

The engagement is purely temporary and initially for one year, extendable up to five years based on performance and DRDO norms.

Selection Process

Selection will be done through Walk-in Interview only.

• Shortlisting will be done based on eligibility

• Final selection will be based on performance in interview

• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview
