Job Details:

Applications are invited for the following positions at DGRE, Chandigarh for the recruitment of Junior Research Fellows (JRF) under various specialized research domains.

1. Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – Computer Science

• Number of Vacancies: 03

• Eligibility:

  • Essential: ME/M.Tech in Computer Science/Computer Engineering with first division (both at Graduate and Post Graduate level) from a recognized University OR M.Sc./BE/B.Tech in first division with NET/GATE in Computer Engineering/Computer Science from a recognized University.

  • Desirable: Knowledge of numerical modeling/simulation, coding experience, virtual reality development in Unity, familiarity with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, HPC systems, and data centers.

• Stipend: ₹37,000/- + HRA per month

2. Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – Physics/Geophysics

• Number of Vacancies: 02

• Eligibility:

  • Essential: Master’s in Science in first division (both at Graduate and Post Graduate level) with NET/GATE in Physics/Geophysics from a recognized University.

  • Desirable: Knowledge of numerical modeling/simulation and coding experience.

• Stipend: ₹37,000/- + HRA per month

3. Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – Environmental Science/Statistics

• Number of Vacancies: 01

• Eligibility:

  • Essential: M.Sc. in first division (both at Graduate and Post Graduate level) with NET/GATE in Environmental Science/Statistics.

  • Desirable: Knowledge of Computer and statistical tools.

• Stipend: ₹37,000/- + HRA per month

4. Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – Remote Sensing & GIS/Geo-Informatics

• Number of Vacancies: 03

• Eligibility:

  • Essential: ME/M.Tech in first division (both at Graduate and Post Graduate level) in Remote Sensing & GIS/Geo-Informatics/Geomatics/Geospatial Technology from a recognized University OR M.Sc./BE/B.Tech in first division with NET/GATE in Remote Sensing & GIS/Geo-Informatics from a recognized Institute/University.

  • Desirable: Experience in fieldwork in the Himalayas, familiarity with remote sensing image processing and GIS software, programming skills, AI/ML-based analysis, SAR data handling.

• Stipend: ₹37,000/- + HRA per month

5. Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – Instrumentation Engineering

• Number of Vacancies: 01

• Eligibility:

  • Essential: ME/M.Tech in Design/Instrumentation Engineering in first division (both at Graduate and Post Graduate level) OR BE/B.Tech in first division with NET/GATE in Mechanical/Instrumentation Engineering.

  • Desirable: Proficiency in Autocad, Solidworks, and dealing with sensors and instruments.

• Stipend: ₹37,000/- + HRA per month

6. Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – Electronics & Communication Engineering/Instrumentation Engineering

• Number of Vacancies: 02

• Eligibility:

  • Essential: ME/M.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering/Instrumentation Engineering in first division (both at Graduate and Post Graduate level) OR BE/B.Tech in first division with NET/GATE in Electronics & Communication Engineering/Instrumentation Engineering.

  • Desirable: Embedded programming and knowledge in C/C++.

• Stipend: ₹37,000/- + HRA per month

• Date of Interview: 07 May 2025

• Application Procedure: Interested candidates must bring a duly filled application form along with bio-data and self-attested copies of mark sheets/certificates (starting from 10th grade), caste certificate (if applicable), experience certificates, and publications (if any) to the walk-in interview.

• Documents Required: Original documents for verification along with one passport-sized photograph affixed on the application form. Candidates working in Government/Public Sector Undertakings/Autonomous Bodies must bring a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their current employer.

Important Notes:

• The positions are purely temporary, and the fellowship will not confer any right for regular appointment or absorption in DRDO.

• Age limit: Maximum 28 years for JRF with relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates as per Government rules.

• The selected candidates will be required to visit and stay in snowbound, glaciated regions of the Himalayas for field data collection, as per project requirements.

• Incomplete applications or those received after the last date will not be accepted.
