Role & Responsibilities

The Consultant will:

  • Assist BIS technical committees (division council, sectional committee, panel, etc.) in formulating and revising Indian Standards.

  • Collect data on global best practices and support preparation of new standard drafts.

  • Coordinate publicity and implementation efforts including webinars, publications, and workshops.

  • Liaise with industry, academic, and government bodies to promote standard adoption.

  • Perform technical editing for publication-quality documents.

  • Undertake other tasks as assigned by BIS.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: As per Annexure-I (Check official notification).

  • Experience: Relevant professional experience in standardization or allied fields.

  • Age Limit: Maximum 65 years as on the last date of application.

Engagement Terms

  • Tenure: One year (contractual, extendable based on performance).

  • Working Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM (Monday to Friday).

  • Leave Entitlement: 12 days annual leave.

  • TA/DA: As per entitlement of Sc-B/Assistant Director level for official travel.

  • Medical Fitness & Police Verification: Mandatory upon selection.
